Welcome to my first Kinder Harmony blog!
I’m so excited to start sharing my passion with you all, I’ve given much thought as to how I’d start blogging (if ever the time came to do it) and have always drawn to a blank on the opening topic. Hmm!
However, having recently starred as a guest speaker on a podcast, sharing my professional opinion and advice on the importance of play, I thought there’s no better time to launch.
Let me start by introducing myself so that you can get to know me as well as those I closely work alongside each day. I can’t wait to delve into my learning through play approach, once we’ve made our formal introductions.
So here goes,

I’m Dominique, a mother of two, wife to one, with 15 years + professional childcare experience.
I have found myself in many a childcare role during my working career, predominantly working in homebased childcare as a Private Nanny, Maternity Nanny and currently Childminder. I’m humbled to have an innate passion for childcare, specialising in providing the highest standards of childcare and parenting support in home-based settings, that emphasises the importance of naturally nurturing children’s creativity; in a homely and serene, yet highly stimulating learning environment. Promoting health, well being and mindfulness as well as a love of nature, respect for all cultures and a sense of self in every child, is my main objective.
I achieve my approach by truly listening to every child as an individual by observing their play, body language, emotions, caring to understand their home life and what makes them who they are. Then I use this information to plan how to create a learning through play environment to best support their learning journey and needs, aiding the child to reach their true potential, in the early years and beyond. I can testify that many of the children within my care have exceeded development expectations, all by their own merit, and grown to be happy, creative little people.

“Naturally nurturing each child’s creativity to achieve their highest potential throughout early childhood and beyond.”
Kinder Harmony Ethos
I’m privileged to say, I have been able to work with my team and other professionals closely to achieve great outcomes. Always inspired by the wonderful families I meet; their relationships and dynamics have been my research and honed my philosophical approach to childcare.
Most recently, I am here blogging my ideas with approaches to childcare, learning through play, and parenting, whilst running an Ofsted Registered Outstanding Childminder Setting in Hertfordshire.
In my spare time I enjoy art, walks with my four legged furry friend, Ralphie. Most important to me is making time for building memories with close friends and my darling family, occasionally (or rather constantly), finding a little time to conjure up play experiences and topics for this blog and how to change the world one child at a time.
Warm wishes,
Dominique Ring
